Tony Thomas has over seventeen years teaching experience and has worked as an English and Drama teacher in the UK and overseas.  He is fully DBS checked and still works in numerous schools in the York area.  He went to the University of York, where he graduated with first class honours in English Literature and went on to take his PGCE in English, also at York.  As Head of Drama, he directed numerous shows, some of which are: Les Miserables, Guy and Dolls, The Black Remote by Glyn Maxwell, Dracula Spectacula, After Juliet by Sharman Macdonald and A-Level pieces such as Attempts on her Life by Martin Crimp and The House of Bernarda Alba by Lorca.

Before going into teaching, Tony worked as a professional actor and trained in London at ALRA. He is still an Equity member.  As well as teaching GCSE and A-Level Drama, he has also taught sessions for LAMDA examinations, organised and attended festivals with ISTA and also given workshops on teaching drama to teachers at some of those events.  He has recently been appointed as a LAMDA examiner and will be examing this autumn.

I am flexible with my times and venues.  I will do home visits or you can come to me.  I live in Holgate, not far from the city centre.  As well as doing hourly sessions, you can also do half-hour sessions and space them out over two weeks or monthly, whatever suits you.  My fees are reasonable.
